About The Course

The Lakes Golf Course, one of the most popular in Essex, has hosted the prestigious Nick Faldo Challenge as well as regional PGA events over the years.

The course is kept in superb condition all year round and offers a variety of golfing challenges. The gentle undulation of the course makes walking easy and the architecture combines lakes, well placed bunkers, mature and new trees with hedgerows.

This 6,267 yard course (measured from the Silver tees) will put your skills to the test, requiring long drives and accurate approaches. As the name suggests, you will get to enjoy glorious views of our lakes and wildlife as you complete this stunning par 72 course in the scenic Essex countryside.

How long does the course take to complete?

The 18-hole course usually takes around 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete.

Are there dedicated tee times?

Yes, your party will get a dedicated tee time, with a maximum of 4 players per timeslot. Larger groups will be split into separate tee times. The earliest tee-off times vary throughout the year with the earliest time being 7:04am in the Summer months and 8:00am in Winter.

What if I play through breakfast or lunch?

There will be a packed lunch available for guests who will play through lunch service, or bacon and sausage paninis for early risers playing over breakfast service.

Can I hire a golf buggy?

Yes, our Golf Buggies are available for hire, subject to course conditions, but they must be pre-booked by calling 01621 862326 as demand is high in the Summer months. Our golf buggies are £35 each, with each buggy seating two.

Can I hire a trolley?

Yes, we have a limited number of pull trolleys available at £5 each.

Can I hire clubs?

You must bring your own set of clubs for our 18-Hole Championship Course, sets are not available for hire. Guests can however borrow clubs for our 9-Hole Par 3 inclusive course from the Sports Kiosk.

Is there a golf shop?

Yes, we have a fully stocked golf shop with a wide range of balls, tees, gloves and clothing available to purchase. We do not currently sell clubs so please remember to bring your own.

Do you offer golf lessons?

Yes, you can book golfing lessons with our Head PGA Professional Craig Lockwood. Please call our Pro Shop on 01621 862326 to pre-book.
